BREAKING NEWS

Brown University Shooting

The December 2025 shooting at Brown University is an apt case study for my breaking news video work at The Boston Globe.

My contribution to our coverage consisted of covering press conferences in person and via wires, handling surveillance footage, and recreating a timeline of events with motion graphics.

Text-on-screen packages

The following are examples of text-on-screen packages produced using wires, handout footage obtained, and footage I shot in the field.

Examples include edits of police bodycam and surveillance footage, highlight compilations of major political events, and wires from international news stories.

Additional examples can be found on the Social Video page of this website.

Press conferences

The following are examples of press conferences I have covered in the field, deploying often on a moment’s notice.

Explanatory Coverage

The following are examples of stories I produced in the midst of breaking news events to help viewers understand the deeper context behind the headlines.

Wire compilations

For longer news events, I often synthesize the content into highlight reels to make the news more palatable for viewers.
